Berry Crawford
Berry began Zen practice in the 1990's as a resident of Sonoma Mountain ZC. Later he became a Dharma heir in the lineage of Soyu Matsuoka Roshi, and is nearing completion of the Koan curriculum in the Taizan Maezumi lineage. He is currently teaching a small group of remote students in northern California, and anticipates ordaining 3 priest trainees in the coming year. He has also given Jukai to a handful of laypeople.
His focus is on combining Soto & Rinzai approaches, promoting lay practice, and building a digital / remote Sangha that may one day evolve into a brick & mortar Zendo.
Berry Crawford is an ordained Zen practitioner/teacher with Clear Mind Zen and also practices with Valley Streams Zen Sangha in Sacramento, California. He posts video interviews, one with DC (Episode 41), that can be found at simplicityzen.com. His other two websites are sierrafoothills.com and mainly scienceofzen.org.
