7-27-07 - A compassionate reader and former SFZC student sends a couple of great teachings from Tibetan masters to be read to Ananda Dalenberg.

The Art of Living as Practice by HH Dilgo Khyentse

with a photo of him.

Essential Advice for Solitary Meditation Practice by Dudjom Rinpoche

and she writes:

Here are a couple of articles you might want to consider reading to Ananda. They are from the Tibetan tradition and I don't know if he is open to that (although I can't imagine he wouldn't be) but then I don't know him.

They are from two teachers in the Nyingma tradition (Trungpa was Nyingma by practice although Kagyu by birth). One of them (HH Dilgo Khyentse) was one of Trungpa's teachers - and one of mine - in fact, he was largely responsible for my going to and hanging out in Nepal - I'll put a photo in of him also - he was HUGE - in every sense of the word. And the other one - Dudjom Rinpoche - I never met him but I've heard his son and his grandson (who is now about 45 years old) teach.

Anyway, these are two very good teachings and Ananda might like them.

DC responds: Ananda was quite appreciative. He just lies there and listens and we don't talk, but I could tell he was grateful that you sent them - especially the shorter piece by Dilgo Khyentse. Thanks a lot.
